About the Role:

As a Residential Solar Installer, you will be responsible for the installation of solar energy systems on residential rooftops, ensuring each system is installed safely and meets the highest industry standards. You’ll be working with solar panels, inverters, and batteries as part of a collaborative team. Your role will also include removing outdated systems and maintaining regular communication with customers and office teams to ensure smooth project execution.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Solar Installation or Roofing Experience: Previous experience in solar PV installation or roofing is required. Experience with both residential and commercial systems is a plus.
  • Electrical License and Certifications (Preferred): CEC (Clean Energy Council) accreditation and a valid electrical license are highly preferred, along with Working at Heights and White Card certifications.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with solar monitoring platforms and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve installation issues.
  • Physical Fitness: The role is physically demanding, requiring work on rooftops and the ability to handle tools and equipment efficiently.
  • Customer Focused: You’ll maintain professional and courteous communication with customers and ensure they understand the installation process.
  • Team Player with a Strong Work Ethic: You work well within a team, bring a positive attitude, and have the flexibility to adapt to project demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Install solar panels, inverters, and battery systems according to design plans and safety standards.
  • Perform removal and replacement of outdated solar PV systems.
  • Ensure all electrical connections are properly installed and integrated with the existing system.
  • Perform system checks, quality control, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functioning of the solar systems.
  • Maintain open communication with customers to explain the installation process and provide support as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including working at heights, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the office team to ensure schedules are maintained and installations are completed efficiently.
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in good condition.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in solar PV installation or a related field.
  • CEC Accreditation and Working at Heights certification (preferred).
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Experience in using solar monitoring platforms and troubleshooting issues.
  • Strong work ethic, with a can-do attitude and excellent teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit, capable of handling the demands of working on rooftops.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage installation timelines effectively.
